Strawberry Strudel

I had no idea how I was going to make these. For some reason I just couldn't visualize them! Luckily, I had some help. Yay for making up recipes!

Strawberry Strudel
RINSE and wash strawberries
Slice them up
MIX with sugar and cornstarch
UNFOLD phylo dough
SPREAD out a layer of strawberries
BUTTER the edges
FOLD in two opposite edges
ROLL to cover the rest
FORK down the seam and place seam-down on a cookie sheet
SLIT the top, butter it, and sprinkle with sugar
BAKE for 25-30 minutes at 350

Kitchen man-wench #2 helping prepare the strawberries

They were not so dry, but the ends were a little too dough-filled. Maybe roll less? But it was a great way to create some layers without actually having to worry about layers.
The phylo dough itself was a little chewy. I wonder if it was the dough or how we cooked it? This is something that needs to be experimented with.

I enjoyed mine with some leftover strawberry slices on top!
